My Paradiso ! - An introduction.

As the name suggests, this blog is about beads & my beaded jewellery . I've always been attracted to beads, stones & crystals, be it any kind eversince I visited one of those Gem & Bead Shows. I remember, I was so confused the first time in there ( I'm sure my friends are gonna agree with me on this one !)... what to buy & what not to because there are so many different kinds to choose from.

I really do not remember how & when the jewellery making bug caught me, but I started doing some amateurish works about 3.5 years ago. It started out with a few trips to the local craft stores buying the necessary tools & other components to begin with some coral, pearls & seed beads that I had (yes, from the Gem shows !) . Thanks to the "WWW" I found A-Z information and so I learnt the basics of jewellery making and that's how I also learnt the "jewellery lingo", I would call it ! Some jewellery making books from the public library helped too for designs & stuff. I must say just looking at those gorgeous designs itself was a feast for the eyes !

Fast-forwarding to the existing time and some more Gem & Bead show visits later, here I am now designing afresh, I can say ! Here are few of my new designs, some of which are inspired by my ethnical background and some are more of a current trend. I am also inspired by my aunt who makes handmade jewellery. I am still a novice at this since there's so much to learn, so many new techniques....ah! the wonders you can do with beads and wires, briolette, cabochon, etc. Being the Arian I am, I tend to rush into knowing all of them at the same time but NO, I am gonna hold back & learn one thing at a time (I can hear my husband saying, "yeah, right!")!!! I hope to update this blog frequently as & when I create new designs. Hopefully I may also post some tutorials too (if I have the patience to take pics, that is !) . I am always curious to know the names & origin of the beads that I work with. So I wish to write about its charateristics just to give out a general info about them, which in turn will serve as a good reference to me. Lastly I want to thank my wonderful husband & my dear friends for encouraging this hobby of mine. My mom would have loved to see my designs & I hope she is seeing everything & blessing me from up above.

I hope you enjoy the beads as much as I do.
